Is the UK hospitality Industry ready for 2012 Olympics?
Posted: February 11, 2012 Category: Wider Market Tags: None
Monarchist or Republican? Sports junky or couch potato? Either way who can fail to notice there’s a lot going on this year with the London 2012 Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee to boot! Tra la la! In practical terms though is this going to be a big commercial thumbs up or down for the event, conferencing and hospitality industry? Well the trade and wider press can’t seem to make their minds up with some suggesting that concerns over transport issues and inflated costs will drive business out of London, whilst other surveys* citing the Olympics as the reason that they are positive about potential business improvement in 2012.*
I would love to hear from our customers what they think and how they are planning to really capitalise on these unique yet challenging events -website@kinetic-solutions.co.uk. Can you hand on heart say your strategic planning for 2012 is the hospitality equivalent of the Girl Guide be prepared badge of honour?! Have you utilised your Event Management Software within an inch of its life?! Either way come July it will perhaps be a suck it and see moment but I really hope when we pause for reflection and the figures are released, the doom or gloom mongers are proved wrong! With everything else that has been thrown at us with the economic downturn I really hope that I can highlight some great success stories from our customer base.
