Kx User Forum 2011!
Last week saw over 120 delegates from 50 of our UK clients come together at the Kx Annual User Forum in Manchester. Over two days it was wonderful to see so many of our clients face to face, participating in sessions, giving us feedback and making new contacts across the Kx network. We also had some visitors from Sweden join our event and network with other Kx clients from Conference Centres, Venues, Universities (Student and Commercial users) and Commercial Property Providers of Student Accommodation.
Our keynote speakers from the US, Tim Touchette, Northeastern University, Boston and Norma Charette from University of New England gave fantastic presentations which were uplifting and very well received. Tim Daplyn of Redbrick Research, who undertake the National Student Housing Survey, was another keynote speaker who gave us an informed take on Surveys and what we should and shouldn’t be doing. A copy of his presentation can be viewed on his website by following this link: http://www.redbrickresearch.co.uk/publications/presentations/kinetic2011.php
The packed programme included sessions on Student Allocation Processes, Analysing your Conference Business, New Features of our Commercial Event and Conference Management Software, New Features of our Student Accommodation Management Software, Online Efficiency, Prototypes, The Future, Delegate Registration Software, Conference Enquiry Management, and Round Table discussions.
The sound of laughter filled the air and our bellies at The Comedy Store, Manchester as we were refreshed and entertained by three fabulous comedians. It was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and I believe a good night was had by all.
The Forum was also very well attended by partners and suppliers including Yammayap, Momentum, Tiger Communications, WPM, SALTO, Uniware and DSP. More information can be found on these in the “About” section of our website.
Next year’s event will be around the same time so make sure you are available and book your place early.
What the attendees thought…
"Thank you for arranging and hosting such a thought proving and informative conference. I really enjoyed the two days and learnt a few new things to put into practice and explore some more."
Christine Kelly - Head of Revenue and Occupancy, The University of Edinburgh
"I would just like to say a huge thank you to you and the rest of the Kinetics team for putting on such a great conference. It was great to network with other KX users and I got a lot out of the workshop sessions"
Sarah Glossop - Hotel and Conference Services Accenture (Kents Hill)
"It was great meeting you at the User Forum and to thank you for arranging a great couple of days. The three of us from Chichester found it a really useful experience meeting the team from Kinetics and also users from other Universities who were able to give us some good advice before we start using the system to manage our Student Accommodation, Conferences and Events"
Andy Carpenter - Conference Officer, University Of Chichester
"I’d just like to pass on the thanks to all of you at Kinetics for an informative and enjoyable two days at the User Forum. There were some very good sessions which fired up my colleagues with ideas for the future. All the Kinetics staff were excellent and very attentive to our needs. Once again, many thanks to you all and we hope to see you again next year."
Sue Hughes - Student Life, University of Salford
